She came to life shrouded in mystery with a story that wanted to be told.
Often times when creating an image, I know what I'm going for before I ever start shooting. This image did not come about that way.
The first spark of it originated with the red lantern, gifted to me from a neighbour.
The colour of the lantern had me pair it with the red dress - the only red dress I have that fits me.
The dress came with the red shawl/sash, which is the same piece of fabric you see hanging down into the image multiple times from above.
With those three pieces, I danced around in front of the camera, liking the movement and flow of fabric I was capturing, and from there the rest of the image was born.
